El Yunque Rainforest - Historic Explorations Before Maria - Nikon

Most of these Nikon images are the result of 3 separate weeks of deep-forest explorations before Hurricane Maria changed the landscape completely. The focus was on the development of the Rio Espiritu Santo from a small stream to a river. The image on the right shows the Sierra Palm Forest right at the start of a tributary of the river. The forest canopy was intact since there had not been any major hurricane for many decades.
